"Autofixation" (Autofixation)

So I have fell on some hard times and want to unload a collection of around 350 Hot Wheels ranging from 1995 to 2013 still in their blister packs. I’m not trying to sell them on here, but rather want advice on where to reach the best buyers. What is the best channel to reach collectors that want to buy collections?
Thanks for any advice, and enjoy the sexy, sexy, best looking Subaru second only to the 22B.

LaLD for sure. I was able to sell about 50+ cars thanks to them. I probably need to sell the remaining 200 at flea market or something.

Did you post the ones that you wanted to sell in a post on there? Did they give you authorship?

Perhaps post them on ebay as a package - here are the best ones, and the rest is a grab bag. You could do them one at a time, but the money would trickle in, you’d have to lay out for a bunch of postage ....

Yes to both, although I already had LaLD authorship before that. I whipped up an Excel sheet to help organize what’s for sale .

This is off topic from the content of your post, but I wrote an article about these Legacy STI’s . Damn, I wish we could get them in America.
Anyway, good luck selling your Hot Wheels!

Cool, I thought ahead and inventoried them a while back. So I already have a spreadsheet. I asked about what to do on one of the authorship posts over there. I guess I’ll wait and see what happens.
Thanks for the help.

That would be fantastic. The fourth gen Legacies and Outbacks will always hold a special place in my heart. What year is your OBXT?

2008. I’m actually doing a one-year write-up on it now.

eBay or large die-cast forums. But keep in mind that “regular” releases from that era are about worthless. It will be nigh impossible to sell a significant amount of them individually and you MIGHT be able to get $.25/car if you go the bulk route. If you have a lot of THs or premiun releases you can expect a bit more, but probably not much.

Sal is right, contact people on LaLD; we all collect over there and would be interested. Might not be interested in buying an entire collection, but worth a shot.
If you really need to unload the whole thing at once; I would try EBay, Craigslist, or set up a booth at a local flea market or something. Make sure you hold on to your favorites though... I know even if I fell on rough times I would kick myself for giving a few of them up.
Best of luck to you.

I gave you authorship on LaLD, so you can post there yourself now. As for selling them, like I mentioned yesterday, LaLD’s facebook market place is the best spot for that. But you can post something on LaLD to mention the type of stuff you have to let people know it’ll be up there.

You could split them into lots such as imports, American muscle, trucks, exotics. That way you’ll more likely get buyers. I would buy all your Japanese cars but I already have all of them I think. I bought a majority of them off of ebay. The good thing about ebay is that you can reach a lot of buyers and they’re more likely to buy because they have buyers protection.

I did go through them and pick out my favorites already (not necessarily the ones worth the most). I figured if I was going to start selling them it was the least I could do for myself.
